Patricia Ann Butzin, age 71, a long time Osage, MN area resident, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids, MN with her loving husband, Harold at her side.

Patricia was born on August 24, 1946 in Anchorage, Alaska to Russell and Beatrice (LaValley) Gilbert. At the age of 18 months, she moved to Hibbing, MN where she attended public schools, graduating from the Hibbing High School with the Class of 1964. As a young woman, Patricia ventured to Minneapolis where she gained employment working for the Gillette Corporation. Patricia was blessed with a daughter, Leanne Denise on August 8, 1965. She moved with her daughter to Norristown, PA. In 1974, they moved to Toronto, Canada where they made their home for a time. In 1975, they moved to Embarrass, MN where she resided until 1994. On June 9, 1978 Patricia was united in marriage to Harold Frank Butzin in Sisseton, South Dakota, where she also gained the love of two sons: Timothy and Russell. Patricia worked as an executive secretary for the Vice-President of the Oglebay Norton Corporation which was the company that managed the Eveleth Taconite Plant. She and Harold retired from their careers on the iron range in 1994 and moved to beautiful Straight Lake near Osage, MN where they worked side by side in building their dream lake home. Patricia was a woman whose faith was firmly built on what her Savior, Jesus Christ had done for her on the cross. She was a long time member of the Evangelical Free Church in Embarrass where she and Harold had taught Sunday School. After moving to Osage, she and Harold had attended the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids when her health allowed. She loved attending women's bible studies and also loved music. She and her sister, Cecilia would write many songs professing Christ's love and forgiveness. The two would often sing those songs in church with Patricia playing her guitar. Patricia had also served as a leader for her daughter's 4-H Club many years. Above all, Patricia will be remembered for her loving devotion to her husband, Harold, her daughter, Leanne; her sons: Timothy and Russell; her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who she loved with all her heart.
