Rose E. Salo, 89
Rose E. Salo, 89, of Hibbing died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 at her home.
She was born in Polk Center Township Sept. 25, 1917 to John and Edna Naplin. She graduated from Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston and Moorhead State Teachers College in 1937.
She married Ernest "Ernie" Salo Dec. 25, 1939 and was a teacher for 32 years, retiring in 1979 from the Cherry School District.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and its altar guild, the Silica Seniors Club and Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 4456, and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 211.
She is survived by her husband; son, Mark (Dixie) of Brisbane, Australia; two daughters, Sharon (Michael Hampston) of Duluth and Sally (Maynard) Baratto of Hibbing; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. in 1959; daughter, Shelly Raye in 1980; two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sun-day, Sept. 24 at the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at Holy Trinity Lu-theran Church, Hibbing.
Interment: Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
